Clients
Add stakeholders who receive reports, portal access, asks, and bulletins—scoped per Linear team.
Alignear is a client communication layer for teams using Linear. Clients are the people who receive cycle reports, portal access, decision asks, and team announcements—without needing Linear seats.
Add a client
- Select the correct Linear team in the Alignear sidebar (clients belong to the active team).
- Open Clients and choose Add client.
- Enter a name and email.
- Optionally enable Send portal invitation on create.
Email addresses must be unique per team.
Manage clients
From the clients table you can:
- View profile — see client details and their portal requests
- Edit — update name or email
- Send portal invitation — email a portal link anytime
- Delete — remove the client from the team
Portal invitations
Clients do not need a Linear account. Their portal link is included in:
- Portal invitation emails
- Cycle and custom report deliveries
- Client asks and published bulletins
You can resend an invitation from the client actions menu if someone loses the link.
What clients see in their portal
Each client gets a dedicated portal with:
- Cycle and custom report history
- Shared custom views you grant them
- A place to submit structured requests
- Bulletins and links for the team
Clients never see your full Linear workspace, internal comments, or unrelated teams.
