Cycle reports

Alignear is a client communication layer for teams using Linear. Cycle reports compile completed Linear cycles into structured, client-readable summaries—without rewriting progress emails every week.

What cycle reports include

Each report summarizes what shipped in the cycle, what is still in progress, and key outcomes from your Linear issues. An AI-generated narrative gives non-technical clients plain-language context without exposing internal comments or workspace noise.

View completed cycles

1. Open Reports in the Alignear sidebar, then Cycle Reports.
2. Browse completed cycles with stats: period, done/total, completion %, scope change, and slipped issues.
3. Use Send report or Send now on any cycle row to deliver a report immediately.
4. Open View send history to see past deliveries for a cycle.

Auto-send settings

1. From Cycle Reports, open Report settings → Cycle report settings.
2. Turn on Auto-send reports to email clients when a cycle completes.
3. Select one or more Clients who should receive reports. Auto-send stays off until at least one client is selected.

You can still send manually from any cycle row even when auto-send is enabled.

How clients receive reports

Sent reports reach clients by email with a link to their portal, where they can read and search past cycles. Clients never need a Linear account.

Best practices

• Close cycles consistently in Linear so reports match your delivery rhythm.
• Review the first few reports before enabling auto-send for a new client.
• Pair cycle reports with client portal access so stakeholders can search delivery history.
